'Hall of Fame' Kits

There's still some confusion around QVC's selling of the Hall of Fame auto delivery kits. People were not being offered kit #2 this week.

For reference, these are the kit numbers you need to order from QVC:

Hall of Fame #1 F04334
Hall of Fame #2 F05462

All who ordered the auto delivery last May will get #2 late October. If you ordered the kit from the airing this week, you can call 1-888-345-5788 and make sure you get the second kit by asking for F05462. At this time these are ONLY available on QVC.

I thought I'd share my page design offered in Kit 1. I'll have to take a photo at an angle of the top "laugh&play" piece for you to see. It's pretty cool, if I do say so myself.

I added the circles around the dates, but you can also punch them out with a small hole punch like a ticket stub. The numbers are rub-on's so you can place them wherever you want too. The pieces above it are chipboard & cardstock.

HIM: "You know what helps you when you're sick?"

Me: "What, buddy?"

Him: "Lots of rest, soup... and gumdrops."

Me trying to remain serious, but smiling now.

Me: "Oh yeah? Gumdrops, huh? Where did you hear that?"

Him: "On TV."

I think he interpreted cough drops as gum drops, lol.

He returned later with a handful of gum drops. He's been sick too, so that's what he requested and was now sharing.

I am well taken care of.

An excessive amount of photo sharing.

I am not a professional photographer. Just a hobbyist and lover of the camera (in a strictly platonic way.) ;)

I really do love it though.

I mainly photograph my family or friends who want their photos taken, which I love doing for them. They're always grateful and it's particularly fun to razz up their children as they're hoping for good behavior and attentive, smiling faces. You can do that with people you know.

Anyway, I recently went through and pulled out some of my favorite photos from the last year or so for Lisa Bearnson. She was the keynote speaker at CPR last month and asked if she could use some of my photos for her presentation (along with other peoples). I thought I'd share some of them here. I will probably add a photo album to the right for my photography and add more as I take them.

My friend Maggie Holmes. I went down to hang out with her and her family for a week this last April. We found this really cool spot on our way home for CKC Mesa. I'll have to share more from this shoot sometime, although my camera was not cooperating well this trip.

Happy Birthday, friend!

Today is my very good friend Kerri Bradford's birthday. I'm so lucky to have her as a friend, a sounding board and co-worker. She's such a rad person. And she puts up with me, which says a lot. Thanks, Ker. ;) Love ya!

We had a work meeting this morning, then a group of us went out to lunch at Cafe Rio for her birthday.

Quick hello & page share

This week has been all about catching up on work and getting back into the groove of things since coming home from my brothers house. You know how it goes... it seems like it takes a couple days to get caught up and back into routines after returning from a vacation. So yeah... that's what I've been up to. Just getting back into my groove with work & life.

I love this time of year. As I was driving home through Provo Canyon this week, I noticed that some of the leaves have already started to change colors. Not many, but it still makes me excited! The changing leaves almost makes seeing Halloween & Thanksgiving decor in stores so soon a little more tolerable too... I think they've had them out since the first week of August, if not sooner! I've even seen some Christmas stuff. Crazy.

I did a layout last week that I've been meaning to share. It's very simple, but that's where I'm at with scrapbooking these days. Keeping it simple (manageable) and using lots of photos.

Make sure to check out Becky's blog in the coming days too for sneak peeks of her next 'Kit of the Month'. A baby kit. It's a personal favorite of mine (lots of cool pieces in it), and I don't even have kids. I'd like to put one together for myself though. The one kit works for both boy or girl, which she'll talk more about on her blog.

A long day, but a good day.

Holy guacamole... yesterday was a really long day. Fun, but I was completely pooped by the time I got home last night. I took over 800 photos. From early in the morning, until after 10pm. I haven't had a chance to sift through them in detail, but these caught my eye immediately. I think they capture how happy & cute they were yesterday. Ahhh, to be in love. They're a good match.

So, I'm off this morning. Taking some time off to hang out with family. I haven't traveled much this summer, so I'm totally excited to get away! I'm going to watch my niece and two nephews over the weekend while my brother and his wife are in Vegas for a conference, then I'll stay a couple extra days when they get back so I can spend some time with them. Totally looking forward to it. Not looking forward to the 3 hour drive by myself this morning however. Ugh.

I'll be drawing names for 'Mix it up' next Tuesday (so there's still time to enter) and will also share a couple more pages next week when I get home.

Here comes the bride

No, not me. :)

Today is one of my best friend's, Sarah's, wedding day. She is marrying a totally good guy, Nate, who also happens to be pretty dang cool. Isn't it nice when they marry people you like? I think so.

I took Sarah & Nate's engagement photos, and her bridals, but was really hesitant to say yes to the wedding day. The fact that if you mess up photos of someone's special day, like accidentally shoot at the wrong settings (1600 ISO at mid-day - yeah, I would be the one to do that), they have good reason to throw things at you... well, makes me a little nervous. I've told her no at least a dozen times (tiny exaggeration), but that didn't stick so well. I'm such a sucker. So, today I am taking their wedding photos. Starting at the temple this morning, then the wedding brunch and then the reception tonight. Hoping all will go well so I still have a best friend come next week. She seems to have a small amount of faith in me though, which is hopeful. And thankfully, friends & family are generally forgiving people... they are, right?

P.S. She likes to mix it up with the colored contacts, in case you're noticing brown eyes above and blue below. I did not photoshop her eyes a different color. She has a hope they'll turn brown on their own one day. They will, Sarah... they will. (((petting her on the face)))
